Rui Gusmão obtained his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from the University of Barcelona, Spain, in 2012. As a postdoctoral researcher, he first worked in Portugal at the University of Porto (2012–13) and at the University of Minho (2013–16). He joined Prof. M. Pumera’s group in 2016 at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Since 2018, he has been a Senior Scientist at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry of the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague, Czech Republic. His current research interests include the electrochemistry of 2D layered materials for energy-related applications. He has authored 32 peer-reviewed articles and has an h-index of 10.
