Roussin Lontio Fomekong is a Senior Lecturer since January 2022 at the Higher Teacher Training College of the University of Yaounde 1 (Cameroon). He is currently research fellow under CHEMFELLS IV stipend in the Sofer group at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry of the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague. Previous to that, he worked as an associate researcher (from 2017 to 2020) and recently (from May to June 2022) as senior scientist at the Institute of Materials Research of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) under the funding program DAAD-DLR. He received his Master Degree (2009) in Material Chemistry from the University of Yaounde I. After that, he did a PhD (2016) in Inorganic Chemistry and Engineering Science in a joined program between “Université Catholique de Louvain” (Belgium) and University of Yaounde I. During his PhD, he worked in collaboration with MATERIANOVA (Belgium R&D Center), on the synthesis by co-precipitation route of mixed metal oxide for gas sensing application. His research interests focus on the preparation of simple and mixed metal oxide by wet chemistry and CVD for indoor air control and high temperature sensing application. His project in Sofer group will focus on the development of Metal oxide/2D Transition Metal Dichalcogenides hybrid materialsfor gas sensing application.
