Alkesh Patel is a research fellow (Chemfells VII individual fellowship) in Sofer group at the
Department of Inorganic Chemistry, University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague. His project
aims to develop electrocatalyst based on two dimensional (2D) materials and metal oxides for
energy generation/storage devices, specifically supercapacitor. He received his Ph.D. in 2022 from
Department of Physics, Sardar Patel University, India, and his research focused on synthesis of 2D
materials for photodetectors and hydrogen evolution reaction. He was postdoctoral researcher at
the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, CAS, Prague (2024-2025), where he worked on
modification of conducting polymers for supercapacitors.
