Aljoscha Söll is a PhD student at UCT Prague in a research group lead by Prof. Sofer. His main focus lies on developing atomically flat, two dimensional semiconductors for optoelectronic applications. Aljoscha received his B. Sc. In Chemistry in 2018 from the Leibniz Universität Hannover in Germany, where he studied the crystal growth of transition metal dichalcogenides via chemical vapour transportation techniques. During his Master studies he spent one semester in the Sofer group where he worked on a novel method for the synthesis and crystal growth of various Zintl phases. In 2021 he received his M. Sc. from the Leibniz University Hannover, for his work on ultrathin colloidal 2D transition metal dichalcogenides.
