Umer Ahsan received his MS in physics from COMSATS University, Lahore, where he was awarded a gold medal for outstanding academic achievements. His master’s thesis focused on investigating and using 2D materials for electronics and optical devices, utilizing mechanical exfoliation and dry transfer techniques. 
Recently, he succeeded in getting the researcher and PhD student position in Professor Sofer’s group at the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague (UCT Prague). His research is focused on synthesizing and characterizing novel 2D materials, with a particular interest in their potential for electronic and optical device applications. He is dedicated to advancing the field through innovative research and is excited to contribute to cutting-edge developments in material science.
