Dr Batool has been a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Sofer’s group since 2025 under the Chemfells VII program. She received her Ph.D. degree from Northwestern Polytechnical University, China in 2022, where she honored with the Outstanding Ph.D. Graduation Award. In 2023, she was awarded the Research Talent Hub (RTH) Postdoctoral Fellowship at City University of Hong Kong. Her research interests include 2D materials particularly, particularly MXenes, with a focus on their synthesis, chemical modifications, and functionalization. She is particularly focussing on the various applications of 2D materials, including their use in 3D-printed energy storage devices such as lithium-ion batteries, as well as in transistors and memristors.
